The American Data Privacy and Protection Act (ADPPA) includes provisions on algorithmic accountability and fairness that can create a baseline for AI regulation. The developers of AI systems, policymakers, and citizens will need to learn much more about the operation of the systems to address the biggest questions of AI policy.
