Could eight million jobs really be lost in the UK in the very near future due to artificial intelligence? A worrying report from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) suggested that there are two ‘waves’ of generative AI adoption, and in the second wave, 59% of tasks done by workers could be automated.
